and some stash yarn! yum! I went to NoeKnit and to ImaginKnit today. Not a good time at Noe, and a great time at IK- I may not go back to Noe. I just don't like to hear one LYS bash another...enough said.


























































and I decided on an HP camera- it was 99 bucks on sale :-) 6.2 mp! and video with audio! and it takes pictures fast - none of that flashy -flashy-shutter pausing I had w/ the nikon!

I even got the drop coverage- because I have killed two phones that way, a camera is certainly next. PICS PICS PICS PICS! :-)

challenge accepted.

okay, so it wasn't really a challenge, but I like to participate, and even better when I have a partner. and...while I think you may end up reading what I had for dinner every day, and what flea's poops look like by the time I am 20 days into posting every day (my genteel way of saying nothing much happens in my life, lol), I am still going to try and make it interesting. If I get hold of a camera this weekend, you may also expect many many many photos, though hopefully not photos of flea's poops.

blogger is having image upload issues- I had a cute pic of flea, and you will just have to wait a little longer to see it.

I am off to noe knits and imagiknit...then to best buy for research and camera fondling: wish me luck and cross your fingers the instant gratification goblins keep their paws off my wallet.

time to buy a new camera for reals...

oh shit. this sucks.

I absolutely hate buying electronics. I am the person who researches for weeks for just the right product, cannot make a decison, then -in a fit of 'instant gratification-itis' coupled with 'i have put this off for too long for God's sake-itis'- I buy the first thing I see at best buy or the electronics store on the wharf.

The Nikon repair place I called for an estimate to clean my camera said 150 minimum. That's right- to clean it. Not repair it, but clean it. (sand in lens from teenager) So I am going to find a simple, cheap digital for 150 or less- preferably one that uses the same memory card as the Nikon I had. I am cheap- I don't want to sell my pictures, I just want to easily post them here and save them on my computer. So...if you know of a camera that fits my requirements- do tell. I use a compact flash... impossible to find so far. and after a bit of research I find that sd cards are super cheap, so that one is okay too.

I am currently sidetracked from real life by:
1. rewriting clapotis into the most amazing pattern written ever in the history of patterns. clarity is my goal.
2. looking for a camera (duh)
3. organizing my embroidery thread (seriously, you can't even imagine)
4. cleaning out my sewing stuff, and organizing, not as much as #3 though, i do have my limits
5. Dreaming of purging and living a minimalist life (yeah, right- have you met me?)
6. writing this post

two days of knitting, crochet-ing, and general girly debauchery!

it's our stitching group's two year anniversary, and we are doing it right! going to yosemite to our group leaders house up there, I am bringing Heathers and sponge curlers for the sleepover theme tonight, and we should be doing some knit-fiti on Saturday :-) I need to get off the effing computer and get to getting ready!

okay- so the folks I made mad friends with at Rage Against the Machine sent me some pics they took- I still don't have a working camera- but these are so much fun.

and they prove I am shameless and honest.
Knitting socks amongst the throng of people- estimates around 40 thousand or so. And yes, I 'finished' them at the concert (and the concert was A M A Z I N G!) I only need to finish little details like redo-ing the top of the rib on one and weaving in ends on the other.

These two pics are also the same day I knew I wasn't pregnant after an IVF attempt. (also part of the reason I brought knitting to a Rage concert. I had to deal somehow, we had guests and I couldn't let it all out.) It was hell not only having to use a port-a-potty to deal with the tampon issue, I also had to deal with being sad and angry. Rage helped with the angry part. I got a lot out of my system when someone nearly took off with my backpack during a mosh that was out of hand...














I had put on some weight with the drugs (hence my belly and arms looking the way they do*, I swear I lost 30 lbs about three or so years ago...) I only need to lose about 10 more and I will be back to what I feel is a reasonable size for me. - on the other hand, I think my hair is Bangin'.

He was at the zoo filming for Dirty Jobs and I totally tagged along like the star hungry dork I truly am. He was exceptionally nice, and really hot, and very - very - tan. His crew was also very nice, and were quite cute themselves!

*please nothing about how I am not fat, - I am not one of 'those women' who fish for compliments...I don't feel like myself and I need to work out and be healthy, and a healthy result of that will be losing weight. I know I am not obese, but I am not where I want to be. I appreciate those who think I look okay, but that's not the whole reason I am not happy with my weight and shape. :-) and to those who do think I am fat- fuck you and shut up. I have enough to deal with, without your commentary. lol.

all day to buy a gift and wash a comforter.

seriously.

I bought a baby gift for a work shower for J. Rushed around like a madwoman, bought one gift, thought better of it, went to two more stores and found another, better one, and then to the laundromat to wash two down pillows and a down comforter (which took forever!). Fit in there a trip to hallmark, safeway, meds for the dog, and twenty phone calls, and you have a glimpse into my day.

Now I am about to make dinner and looking oh-so-forward to House! woo-hoo! I lurve House.

knitting-wise:
I found a local store that may be interested in selling some of my knitted things- interesting, probably after the holidays- I am so busy with family stuff, we shall see...

making a scarf that is driving me batty... otherwise nada mucho on the needles.
