two new sockies

I cast on another pair of socks, with a different pattern than the first two. Hopefully the new pattern will help me avoid the problems i ran into with the heels on the first pair. This one has what is called an 'afterthought heel', sounds interesting, doesn't it? Basically it means using waste yarn to hold the heel live until the rest of the sock is completed, then picking those st. up and doing the heel last. We shall see if this works better. :-)

Going on a drive down the coast today- should get much further on them- I hope! pictures of the drive and the sockies should follow...

these bad boys are almost done now. one is finished but for weaving in the ends, and the other is in surgery with a friend (dropped stitches!).

the one on the bottom got in trouble with me when I made mistakes repeatedly on it and had to unknit the other one to fix them! magic loop's only flaw, btw.

I have enough yarn left over to make some kiddo socks- that should be fun.

I cast on another pair for the time I am away from these guys, and am just kind of winging the pattern, referencing patterns on the web for ideas and guidance. We shall see how that turns out. I need to sit down and write it out as I go, because otherwise I am insuring Second Sock Syndrome.
